EmpowerU is a flagship program designed to empower rising Black and “minority” professionals by focusing on cultural and economic growth. Through workshops on history, heritage, leadership, and wealth-building strategies, participants gain practical skills for personal development and financial stability. Upon completion, they receive continued career advancement support and a leadership certification recognized by the County of San Diego, equipping them to drive lasting socioeconomic development.

Program Breakdown:

  1. Session I: Identity and Culture (February 12)
    Goal: Strengthen participants' self-confidence and understanding of personal strengths.
    Outcomes: Increased self-awareness and personal growth.

  2. Session II: History and Culture (February 19)
    Goal: Deepen connection to heritage, fostering cultural pride and belonging.
    Outcomes: Greater appreciation of cultural identity and increased community involvement.

  3. Session III: Leadership Development (February 26)
    Goal: Equip participants with essential leadership skills.
    Outcomes: Improved communication, team management, and conflict resolution abilities.

  4. Session IV: Economic Empowerment (March 5)
    Goal: Provide financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills for self-sufficiency.
    Outcomes: Stronger financial management and potential for business or career advancement.
