About BLAC.
BLAC (Black Leadership Alliance Coalition) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to disrupting the myth of “minority inferiority” and fostering socioeconomic sustainability in Black and minority communities. Through cultural leadership and economic empowerment programs, BLAC is equipping rising professionals with the confidence, skills and resources needed to drive economic mobility and self sufficiency within their communities and beyond.
Vision
BLAC envisions a society where Black and “minority” communities thrive economically, socially, and culturally, free from the constraints of internalized racism and instability as result of economic and cultural empowerment.
Mission
Addressing internalized racism in minority professionals to drive economic mobility, self sufficiency and innovation in the Black community and beyond.
Who We Are
BLAC disrupts economic inequity by tackling often-ignored root causes—internalized racism, self-doubt, and systemic barriers. Through cultural empowerment, leadership development, and career placement, we equip Black professionals to lead, thrive, and transform their communities.
Our Programs
BLAC’s EmpowerU and BLAC Wall Street programs focus on three core pillars:
Cultural Empowerment – Strengthening identity and pride through Africana studies, workshops, and community events to build confidence and self-worth.
Leadership Development – Equipping minority leaders with decision-making, emotional intelligence, and networking skills to drive impact.
Financial Empowerment & Career Placement – Connecting young professionals to internships, high-growth careers, and industry partnerships for lasting economic independence.
EmpowerU is a transformative cultural leadership program that equips young Black leaders with the skills, confidence, and networks to break barriers, advance their careers, and uplift their communities.
BLAC Wall Street is a career placement program that drives Black economic mobility by connecting Black leaders with Black and locally owned businesses. It fosters entrepreneurship, community trust, and wealth retention, ensuring resources stay within our communities to build generational wealth.
Our Impact
Since our founding, BLAC has empowered 500+ young professionals annually. By 2027, we’ll expand by 50%, driving career success, financial stability, and cultural leadership.
Our Partners and Supporters
Partnerships are at the heart of BLAC’s success. Our corporate sponsors, community partners, and individual supporters play a pivotal role in expanding our impact. By joining BLAC as a partner, you can contribute to a transformative future, helping to close the wealth gap and create opportunities for new Black leaders.
The Three Most Impactful Systemic Barriers BLAC is Fighting
Economic Mobility – Wage gaps, lack of capital for Black entrepreneurs, and discriminatory financial systems blocking wealth-building.
Career Advancement – Hiring bias, lack of sponsorship, and exclusion from executive leadership.
Workplace Discrimination – Microaggressions, bias, and exclusionary policies limiting career growth.
BLAC combats these barriers through mentorship, leadership development, career placement, and financial literacy, empowering Black professionals to thrive and build generational wealth.

Founder: TJ Harris
Who is TJ Harris, CEO?
TJ Harris, Founder and CEO of the Black Leadership Alliance Coalition (BLAC), created the organization to disrupt the deeply ingrained narrative that Blackness is inferior—a lie that has fueled cycles of self-hatred, disorganization, and oppression. Heartbroken by the devastating effects of this war on the Black mind, TJ chose action over despair, building BLAC as a platform for leadership, empowerment, and systemic change. “I’m not special,” he says. “I just care deeply about the Black community, and if more people care, we can change the world.” BLAC exists to equip emerging “minority” leaders with the tools to thrive, rooted in cultural pride and economic opportunity. Through his leadership, TJ challenges everyone to take a stand and become part of this transformative movement for empowerment.
